The Kansa Sweet Bowl with Spoon is a boxed bronze gift set for serving sweets. It has a Kansa Bela Shrikhand Bowl, a medium Kansa Spoon and a Madur Grass Coaster. Everything comes packed in our Dhanvantri's Amrita – Nectar of Wellness gift box.

The bowl is low and rounded, with a brushed finish, and holds 250 ml / 8.5 fl oz. That's enough for a serving of kheer, shrikhand or payasam. Many Indian families buy new metal utensils on Dhanteras, the first day of Diwali.

We made this set for that tradition. It works as a Dhanteras gift for family, and as a corporate Diwali gift for employees and clients.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why do people buy Kansa or metal utensils on Dhanteras?
Dhanteras is seen as a good day to bring new metal into the home. Many families buy a utensil, a coin or a lamp that day. Kansa is often chosen because it is also used for daily eating.
2. Which Diwali sweets can I serve in this bowl?
It suits soft or liquid sweets like kheer, payasam, shrikhand, rasmalai or basundi. It can also hold a few laddoos, kaju katli or dry fruits for guests.
3. Is the spoon also made of Kansa?
Yes. The spoon is made of the same Kansa bronze as the bowl, so the two match in color and finish.
4. Why is the bowl rounded instead of straight-sided?
The curved sides help you scoop soft sweets and curd cleanly with a spoon. The inward rim also helps prevent spills when you pass the bowl around.
5. How can I tell the bowl is real Kansa?
Tap the rim gently with a spoon. Real Kansa gives a clear ring that lasts for a few seconds. A dull, short sound usually means a different metal.
6. Is this a good gift for a baby's first feeding ceremony?
Yes. In many Indian families, a baby's first rice or kheer (annaprashan) is served in a Kansa bowl with a Kansa spoon. It makes the set a meaningful gift for new parents.
