Aenak began with an itch: after one too many “cotton rich” bedsheets left Mumbai-based Swati with a rash, she called her mother, Rekha, who had been thinking the same thing for years. The pair traced the answer to Sanganer, the Jaipur town where families have been hand block printing textiles for over five centuries, and built the brand around those artisans. Every piece is pressed by hand with carved teak blocks and azo-free, skin-safe dyes onto pure natural fibres like mulmul, percale and waffle cotton, with no polyester blends and no chemical finishes. The range covers block-printed bedsheets, Jaipuri razai quilts, mulmul dohars, quilted bedcovers, waffle cotton bathrobes and a kids’ line that includes a newborn kit. The name is the philosophy: aenak means spectacles, and the brand exists to show you exactly what you’re getting. If you grew up with a mulmul dohar in your grandparents’ home and have never found its equal in the US, this is the one that finally delivers.
