Part-time · 8–10 hrs/week · Hybrid (Mondays in San Diego office)
Desi Local Co. curates and ships products from India's best new brands to the South Asian diaspora in the US. We're a small, founder-led team, and you'll apprentice directly with our co-founder Amrita — learning how a real e-commerce brand runs its social channels while your work goes live, fast.
What you'll do
Once a week (est. 1 hr): Review last week's post performance, then build next week's content plan — at least 3 Reels and 2 photo posts — and submit for feedback and approval.
Mondays (2 hrs, in office): Co-create content with the team — this is our batch production session for filming and drafting the week's Reels and posts, and where you'll get hands-on coaching each week.
Daily (20–30 min): Keep the content pipeline moving — draft and submit posts on schedule, respond to comments and DMs, engage with diaspora and vendor accounts, and flag trending audio or formats worth jumping on.
Flexible (~3–4 hrs/week): Independent production time — editing Reels, writing captions, and building Canva assets on your own schedule.
What you'll learn
Content strategy, Reels & YouTube Shorts production, community building, and how social drives revenue for a growing e-commerce brand with direct founder mentorship every week.
